NaPoWriMo – Day 21

21 Apr

Day 21 – man on his thrown

shut him down

to only build him up

talks to our kids about doing good

hungry homes and

loose changin’ families

struggling at corners

won’t say they know where to go

there’s no more room for them

at the homes

no more room for their family

no more room on the crowded iron horse

stuffed streets and empty pockets

endorsed big whigs

hatching big dimes

wines and cheese deals

what about the family down the block

who hasn’t seen that meal?

praise the man who

claims to own one pair of shoes

and make one dollar

rich man to poor man woes

help the man

get down from his high horse

and thrown

Enjoyed it even though it has that tinge of desolate misery and pathos.
