NaPoWriMo – Day 22 + Day 23

23 Apr

Day 22 – baby bump

little kin of mine growing in me

you speak so heavily

bounce to make me feel

you

heartbeat

with mine

fertile

petite

your body

in mine

so young

so vibrant

full

of

life

without

taking

one

breath

into the world around me

Day 23 – the missing (dedicated KPL)

blond curls

and eyeglasses that don’t fit

the frame

of his face

lisp and

quirky smile

all that has left

this house

expired many moons ago

given to the man upstairs

or the moon goddess

she says

that’s my brother

the dream catcher that lay on the wall

with his face right above

a boy she never met

too young to know

too young to have grown

one bite gone wrong

the house empty, cold

somewhere they have found solace

his presence still vivid

stands in the corner

watching over

taking it in

laughing and smiling

at the what would’ve beens

he

should

be

here

he’s missing

but somewhere better now

beyond the clouds, the skies

where we can’t touch

missing

where we can’t see him

but always there

The first poem reminded me of the joy of a pregnant friend. Wonderful πŸ™‚
